The Eriophorum polystachion, as I was told by the late Mr Howe [?sp.], grows upon Hinton Moor, along with Er. pubescens,... [signed] 'an old FLS, James Dalton'. letter 118: James Dalton to Henslow July 28 [1829]. Add.8176.
Eriophorum pubescens... Such is the description we have drawn up from the original specimens of the E. pubescens of Smith, communicated from Cherry Hinton Moor, Cambridgeshire, by the kindness of the Rev. J. Holme:... this is the E. latifolium of Schrader. W.J.H. Smith, Eng.Bot.Suppl.(1831)1:2633.
